Leaks and Cracks

A hydronic heating system uses tubing to deliver heat throughout your home. So, one of the things to check on this winter is for signs of leaks or cracks. Rooms with unexpected temperature drops and uneven heating are some of the signs that suggest you may have leaks or cracks.

Trapped Air

Air can sometimes become trapped in a hydronic baseboard heater. The result could be noise during operation that gets noticeable enough to become a distraction. We can remedy this problem for you by purging the air out of the pipes, which is done by removing some water from the system.

Thermostat Accuracy

Another thing you’ll want to check with your hydronic heating system this winter is the accuracy of your thermostats. Go into each room where you have a baseboard unit and check to see if you are getting an accurate thermostat reading. It’s fine if there are variations by a few degrees. However, if there are significant discrepancies, your thermostat may need adjusted, repaired, or replaced.
