Your Absecon Drain Cleaners — Since 1993

Absecon’s mainland South Jersey — older homes, mature trees, bigger lots, and a lot of history in the ground. That combination is hard on drains: tree roots hunting out old cast-iron and clay lines, and long sewer runs that wind the length of the property out to the street, from how these older homes were first built. We’ve been clearing Absecon drains since 1993, and we know how these lines were put together — because we’ve been under these houses for over 30 years.

Whether it’s a single slow sink, a line full of roots, or a main backing up out to the street, we find it and clear it. If something’s going on down the line, we camera it, show you what we’re looking at, and lay out your options — repair or replace, your call. Straight answers, honest price. Need it handled today? We offer same-day service — call us and we’ll get you on the schedule.

What We Clear in Absecon

If it drains, we clear it — main sewer lines from the house out to the street, whole-house backups, toilets, sinks, tubs and showers, washing machine drains, slop sinks, and floor drains, plus roof and storm drains.

We handle any blockage down the line — grease, sludge, roots, you name it — with the right tool for the job: cable and snake drain cleaning, hydro jetting, sewer video inspection and location service, and full root removal.

  • Hydro Jetting — The Fix That Lasts

A cable machine punches a hole through the clog, but the grease, sludge, and roots are still coating the pipe wall — so it comes right back. Jetting scours the whole line: high-pressure water blasts the pipe back to bare wall, roots and buildup and all. On Absecon’s long, root-packed runs, it’s usually what finally makes the clog quit for good. Residential and light commercial.

  • Cast-Iron Descaling — Next-Level Clearing

Old cast iron gives you trouble as it ages — the inside wall rusts and scales over, turning rough and jagged. A smooth pipe lets waste slide right through, but that rough, corroded surface snags grease, paper, and debris, so it catches and builds until the line clogs. We run chain knockers, a specialty descaling machine that knocks the hardened rust and scale off the wall and brings it back to smooth, bare metal, then hydro jet it to flush it all out. That’s the difference between clearing a cast-iron line and restoring it — and on Absecon’s old cast iron, especially in the White Horse Pike homes, it brings a dead line back to full flow.

  • The Long Run: We Handle Long Sewer Lines

Here’s what makes a lot of Absecon homes different. Because of how many of these houses were originally built, the sewer often runs a long, roundabout path — from the house, out the back, and all the way to the street. (We don’t do septic work — but where a home once ran that way and later tied into city sewer, that history is why the line runs so long today.) Long runs give roots more pipe to invade, more joints to fail, and more low spots to catch debris. We know these setups inside and out. We video the whole run to find exactly where it’s clogging, clear it, and tell you straight if a bad stretch needs more than a cleaning.

Roots: Absecon’s #1 Clog

Mature trees and old pipe are a bad combination. Roots find the smallest crack or loose joint in a cast-iron or clay line, work their way in, and grow into a root ball that fills the pipe and catches everything coming down the drain. It’s the number-one reason Absecon lines back up. We cut them out, jet the line clean, and — where roots keep coming back — video it to find the way in and tell you how to stop it for good.

We Know Absecon, Neighborhood by Neighborhood

  • The White Horse Pike Area — The main drag through town, a mix of older homes and light commercial that’s been here a long time. Aged cast iron and clay lines, plenty of mature trees, and roots that find their way in.
  • Faunce Landing — Established Absecon homes on older lines, with the long runs and root trouble that come with age and big lots.
  • Society Hill — This newer community is built on concrete slab, so the story’s different here. The drain lines are cast right into the slab with no crawl space to get under them — and when our sandy ground settles, those lines sag and belly under the concrete, so water sits and the line clogs. You can’t just drop underneath to find it. We run a sewer video and locate the exact spot and depth under the slab, so we know right where the trouble is before anybody touches the floor. Newer home, different problem — same straight answer. And it’s not just the old cast iron — if the home’s newer, it’s on ABS or PVC, and that plastic isn’t bulletproof either: over time the glued joints crack and the line can sag, fault, and collapse, especially on slab where the ground settles under a pipe nobody can reach.
  • Absecon Highlands — Out toward the Galloway side, bigger lots and longer sewer runs — including some of the longest sewer runs in town, which give roots and debris more pipe to work with.

We Work With Absecon’s Water & Sewer Department

Thirty-plus years down here means we know the people, not just the pipes. We’ve got a good working relationship with Absecon’s water and sewer department and public works crew — so when a backup runs from your line out to the town’s, we know who to call and how to get it handled. We talk their language. No guesswork, no finger-pointing, no runaround. We work together to get your drains flowing again.

Got an Old Curb or Yard Trap?

Some older Absecon homes still have an old trap out at the curb or in the yard — a U-shaped fitting from back when plumbing was done different. Down here they’re always outside. That trap is a magnet for clogs and often has no reason to still be there. When we run into one and it makes sense to pull it, we remove it so your line quits backing up at the same spot every time.

Why Absecon Drains Clog

It comes down to age, roots, and long runs. A lot of these lines are old cast iron and clay that roots love to invade. The sandy South Jersey ground shifts and settles, pulling lines out of pitch so water sits and sludge builds. And those long sewer runs give trouble more room to start. Add decades of use, and these drains take a beating. We’re not guessing — over 30 years on these mainland lines means we know how the pipe failed and how to fix it.

Sometimes a Clog Is a Broken Pipe

Now and then the video shows the real trouble isn’t a clog at all — it’s a root-split, cracked, or collapsed line, common on old cast iron and clay with roots in it. When that’s the case, we can often fix it from the inside with no-dig trenchless lining, no trench through your yard. That’s a job of its own, and we’ve got a whole page on it.
